There is a derth of technical documentation in Corel world. This goes a fair way to remedy that situation. For me on line docs are cumbersome and slow. Margins could stand to be wider so I can annotate it. Also could be more explicit about covering the "Graphics Suite", title seems to imply it covers only one product.. Would be even better if it had something to say about the others apps included in the suite, such as font manager.
The Kindle version is five stars but the book is only three. The content is the same but the book keeps talking about color in the figures. The graphics in the book are all grayscale! Buy a Fire 10 and load the book as a Kindle version. Its cheaper and the Kindle version is full color! You will be much happier. The guide as a whole is five stars especially for those new to CorelDRAW.
The Official Guide for Corel Draw x8 is an excellent reference for most levels of ability--far beyond what I really want or need. It is filled with examples and step by step guides for most every feature of the program. I have used Corel Draw since the mid 90s and am a big fan. I can do all sorts of excellent techniques with the program and I only know about 10 percent of what x8 can do. Maybe even only 8 percent. If a user really wants to learn the program and is willing to spend the time it takes, this is the most complete source for your answers.
While the book is great it is targeted as a manual for Corel Draw. Again excellent reference book. I just wish it had a section more like a Corel Draw for Dummies to get you started. That's why I gave it four stars. If you are stuck on an issues you just dig deep into the Guide and you'll figure it out. I use both Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw.
These guides by Gary Bouton are the best way to end up as a power user of CorelDRAW. Bouton walks you through the tools and then expands on them so that you come close to using all the full capability of CD. It takes some patience, there is a lot in CD, but with the example files it is easy to grasp what you're doing.
